Resolution No. 2/96
On the amendments to Article 4 of the Free Trade Agreement between
the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Lithuania
(hereinafter referred to as Free Trade Agreement) and Protocol A to the Free Trade Agreement,
made by the Joint Committee of the Free Trade Agreement between Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
The Joint Committee,
considering that the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Lithuania on Trade in Agricultural Products has been signed on June 16, 1996,
has decided:
1. Paragraph 2 of Article 4 of the Free Trade Agreement shall be abolished. Paragraph 3 of Article 4 of the Free Trade Agreement shall be deemed as Paragraph 2 of Article 4 of this Agreement.
2. Article 4 of the Free Trade Agreement shall be amended by Paragraph 3: “For this purpose of implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Lithuania on Trade in Agricultural Products, signed on June 16, 1996, without prejudice to Article 2 of the Free Trade Agreement, provisions of Protocol A to this Agreement shall be applied as well to products originating in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and falling within Chapters 01 to 24 of the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System”.
3. Protocol A to the Free Trade Agreement shall be replaced by the new wording of this Protocol. The new wording of the Protocol A is enclosed to this Joint Committee’s decision.
4. The provisions of this Joint Committee's decision enter into force at the same date of entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Lithuania on Trade in Agricultural Products, provided the internal legal procedures of the Parties for entry into force of this decision are completed.
Done at Tallinn, 12th of July, 1996 in a single copy in the Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of difference of interpretation the English text shall prevail.
