DECISION No 1/2002 OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE OF THE FREE TRADE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF LATVIA AND THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC
THE JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Latvia, of the one part, and the Slovak Republic, of the other part, signed in Riga on April 19, 1996 and Protocol 3 to this Agreement concerning the definition of the concept of “originating products” and methods of administrative co-operation as amended by Agreement between the Republic of Latvia and the Slovak Republic on Amendments to the Protocol 3 on Rules of Origin to the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Latvia and the Slovak Republic and Decisions No.2/1999 and No. 1/2000 of the Joint Committee of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Latvia and the Slovak Republic;
Having a mind provisions of Article 38 of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Latvia and the Slovak Republic,
Having in mind the Amendments to the Harmonized System applicable as from January 1, 2002 bear on changes that should be incorporated in the text of Protocol 3;
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1
Protocol 3 concerning the definition of the concept of “originating products” and methods of administrative co - operation and Annexes to it shall be abolished and replaced with the new Protocol 3 and Annexes to it, which shall constitute an integral part of this Decision.
Article 2
This Decision shall enter into force on the first day of the second month following a receipt of the latter diplomatic note confirming its approval in accordance with the internal legal requirements of the respective Party.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the undersigned plenipotentiaries being duly authorised thereto, have signed this Decision.
